Vincent Tao Chuang is CEO of PPLive (PPTV), the largest online TV provider in China with 240 million user installation base and 125 million active users per month. Vincent has raised 250M USD from its latest Round, a landmark fund raising in the video industry- the largest investment since Google acquired Youtube. Prior to joining PPLive, Vincent was Director and founding member of Microsoft Virtual Earth program after Microsoft acquired his company
- GeoTango in 2005, where Vincent was Founder and CEO. GeoTango is an industry pioneer in 3D earth mapping and visualization, the first commercial system in 3D mapping online, known as GlobeView (two years ahead of Google Earth). Prior to his entrepreneur venture, Vincent held Canada Research Chair Professor position at York University, Toronto. He was recognized by his peers as a world-class expert in mapping, and location based services. Vincent has authored and co-authored over 200 technical papers, and holds a number of technical patents. Vincent is the Executive Board Member of many organizations. He has received over a dozen of awards and distinctions for his achievements. York University has recently established a ‘Vincent Tao Engineering Scholarship’ to recognize his contributions.
